Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set forth rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and users regarding location‑based services provided by EKCOW (the “Company”) and other necessary matters.
Article 2 (Official service and location data)
EKCOW operates as an official service. We continuously stabilize and improve location-based and translation-statistics features. Changes to location processing will be announced in advance under this Policy and the Privacy Policy.
Article 3 (Effect and changes)
- These Terms take effect when a user applies for the Service or, as a subject of personal location information, agrees to these Terms and the Company accepts.
- If the Company changes the Terms, it will announce the change and effective date via the app or website.
- Users may refuse to agree to changes; if they do not agree, they may stop using the Service and withdraw.
Article 4 (Purposes of collection and use)
4.1 Purposes
The Company collects and uses location information for:
- Real‑time exchange rates: currency and rate display and recommendations by region
- AI translation: location‑based local language and translation recommendations
- Language learning: regional learning content
- Media sharing: optional location tagging on posts
- Marketplace: regional listing and trade area display
- Nearby businesses: search results based on user location
- Travel home & weather: regional weather and area information display
Example: when traveling abroad, currency rates and local translation recommendations may use location.

4.3 Anonymous translation statistics (included in these Terms)
Together with location use, the Company may collect and use anonymous translation statistics. If you agree to this section:
- Purposes: improving translation and learning quality, regional recommendations, anonymous analytics
- Items: language pairs, usage of results, region codes (country/city) — no personally identifiable data
- Anonymization: no collection or storage of member IDs or device identifiers; statistics are aggregated
- Retention: anonymous statistics may be kept until withdrawal or as separately stated, then destroyed
- Withdrawal: you may withdraw consent in App > Consent settings; translation, learning, maps, etc., may be limited
Relationship to the Service: translation, learning, Google Maps integration, and location‑tagged posts require consent to these Terms; without consent, those features may be limited.

Article 6 (Use and disclosure)
6.1 Use
- Location information is used only for the purposes in Article 4.
- Where necessary for the Service, location data (coordinates, region codes, etc.) may be stored on servers with encryption (e.g., AES-256), subject to accuracy options (HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW/CITY_ONLY) and anonymization settings chosen by the Member.
- Data is retained only as needed for features such as post location tagging, nearby business or translation recommendations, and travel home/weather, and is deleted when the purpose ends or when the post/feature is removed or consent is withdrawn.
- Regional statistics for service improvement may be kept in anonymized form.
6.2 Third parties
The Company does not disclose location information to third parties except:
- Where the user has consented in advance
- Where required by law
Article 7 (Retention and use period)
- Post/feature-linked location: stored encrypted on servers while the post or feature is active; deleted when the post is removed or consent is withdrawn
- Search/usage logs: anonymized, up to 1 year for improvement
- Statistics: stored in non-identifiable form
- Withdrawal or consent withdrawal: identifiable location data is deleted without undue delay; complete deletion within 30 days after account withdrawal per the Privacy Policy (except legal retention)
Article 8 (Destruction)
- Stored location data is deleted by irrecoverable means when the purpose ends or the retention period expires
- If retention is necessary, data is anonymized and used only for statistics
- Electronic files are permanently deleted by irrecoverable means
Article 9 (Rights of data subjects)
Users may exercise the following rights at any time:
- Withdraw consent: deny location permission in app or device settings
- Suspend use/provision: turn off location in app settings
- Confirm facts of use/provision: contact customer support (contact@wisetune.site)
- Deletion: upon consent withdrawal, post deletion, or membership withdrawal (30-day grace per Privacy Policy on withdrawal)
How to exercise rights:
- App: Settings > Location permission > Off
- iOS: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > EKCOW > Never
- Android: Settings > Location > App permissions > EKCOW > Deny
Article 10 (Legal representatives)
The Company does not collect or use location information from children under 14; membership is restricted for under‑14 users.
Article 11 (Security measures)
- Encryption: HTTPS/TLS for transmission
- Access control: minimized access to location data
- Immediate destruction: reduces leakage risk
- Anonymization: non‑identifiable when storage is needed
- Security programs: protection against hacking and malware
Article 12 (Limits on use)
The Company does not use location information except:
- Purposes consented to in advance
- Cases specially provided by other laws
No disclosure to third parties: the Company does not provide users’ location information to third parties.
Article 13 (Damages)
- If the user suffers damage due to the Company’s violation of Articles 15–26 of the Location Information Act, the Company shall compensate such damage.
- If the user breaches these Terms and causes damage to the Company, the user shall compensate the Company.
Article 14 (Dispute resolution)
- The Company operates a customer center for location‑related complaints
- Users may withdraw consent to use or provision in whole or in part
- Users may withdraw consent to collection, use, and provision at any time
Article 16 (Changes to these Terms)
- The Company may change these Terms within the scope of the Location Information Act and other applicable laws.
- When changing the Terms, the Company continuously announces the change, effective date, and content.
- The Company is not liable for user damage due to lack of knowledge of changes.
Supplementary provisions
Article 1 (Effective date) These Terms take effect on 2026-07-30.
